Kim Kate - EVO001 [EVO]
After a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kim Kate has returned with a brand new EP, EVO001. This EP is the first release from the Seoul-based label EVO, which focuses on electronic music.
EVO001 features a selection of tracks that showcase Kim Kate's multidimensional electro sounds, heavily influenced by Detroit techno.
The EP begins with "Dune", which transports listeners to a fictional planet with sand dunes, while "Tx0xRx" is a retro-futuristic electronica track that pays homage to vintage synths and the MS-20. "Covox" is an aggressive electro track with a distorted 909, infused with tribal-tech jazz-fusion groove and repetitive voice synthesis speaking 'Covox', the retro computer. "Blue Heron" is a track that heavily focuses on grooves on the dance floor with TB303. Additionally, the EP includes two remixes, "Tx0xRx" remixed by Go Dam, and "Dune" remixed by K.O.P 32.
