Sound Designer & Creative Technologist
Based in Seoul, Heewon Oh—better known as Kim Kate—is a sound designer, composer, and creative technologist working across fashion, art, and electronic music. With a background in Music Computing from Goldsmiths, University of London, Kate has established a diverse practice spanning audio branding for luxury fashion houses, sonic art installations, and underground electronic music production.
Kate's work bridges commercial and experimental contexts, from designing audio identities for Louis Vuitton and thisisneverthat to creating interactive audiovisual pieces using Max/MSP and TouchDesigner. As a producer and studio musician, Kate's music—ranging from warehouse techno to grime—has been featured on BBC Radio 1, Rinse FM, and Worldwide FM. Kate has also contributed sound design to exhibitions at MMCA Seoul and collaborated with contemporary artists on immersive multimedia installations.
